Tetra BalanceBalls ProLine is an efficient filter medium with small, water-insoluble polymers that serve as a substrate for beneficial bacteria. These bacteria convert nitrogen compounds and thus help to lower nitrate levels. During this natural process, the carbonate hardness increases and the pH value is stabilized. The result is an aquarium that requires less frequent water changes, creating a pleasant environment for fish and plants. The Balance Balls fit in any common external filter and are suitable for larger aquariums from 50 litres. They also support the formation of a biofilm on which denitrifiers can attach. They can be used both preventively and specifically when nitrate levels are elevated.
