TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) Dog

TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) Dog is a hypoallergenic dog food containing all essential nutrients. The combination of rabbit and rice rarely causes hypersensitivity reactions. This is partly because TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) is based on just one protein source and one carbohydrate source. Switching to a hypoallergenic diet helps prevent immunological reactions (food allergy) and non-immunological reactions (food intolerance) that can lead to skin or digestive issues. It reduces the likelihood of unpleasant symptoms such as scratching, rubbing, and biting.

Food hypersensitivity in dogs

Food hypersensitivity means that your dog reacts excessively or abnormally to certain ingredients in its current diet. There are two main forms of hypersensitivity:

Allergy (more than 90% of cases): a reaction caused by (animal) proteins, triggering an immune system response. Once developed, an allergy can persist for life.
Intolerance: a reaction not linked to the immune system.

The associated symptoms can be identical for both forms, which makes diagnosis more difficult. Common signs are skin problems (redness, itching) and gastrointestinal issues (diarrhoea, vomiting) – general and non-specific symptoms. Usage

The recommended feeding period is initially 3 to 8 weeks. If hypersensitivity symptoms disappear, TROVET Hypoallergenic RRD (Rabbit) Dog can be used indefinitely. Strict adherence to the dietary instructions is very important.

Note

Please note: not all symptoms will disappear immediately. Skin conditions, for example, often improve slowly. If the symptoms reduce or disappear completely, the diagnosis of food hypersensitivity is confirmed.
